Yashoda, noticing Krishna sneaking out, asked him where he was going and what was happening. Krishna, recalling the recent events, feigned innocence and asked her what she meant. She reminded him that she had told him to stay inside, but he seemed ready to leave. Krishna, realizing his mother hadn’t seen anything, smiled and said that he wouldn’t go anywhere without first eating the butter and roti she made for him. Yashoda, still suspicious, asked why he was heading outside, but Krishna quickly managed to ease her worries. She then sat down and fed him lovingly, expressing that her concern for him was purely out of love and care, which every mother feels for her child. Krishna, sensing her emotions, asked if her worries upset her more than him. Yashoda explained that when he left without informing her, she naturally worried. Krishna assured her that from now on, he would always let her know before going anywhere and that she didn’t need to be anxious anymore. To lighten the moment, he fed her a bit of the food in return.
Later, as night fell, Radha lay in bed, restless, unable to shake off the thoughts of Krishna’s divine play. She marveled at how his feats seemed so impossible and found herself wondering about his strength and abilities. As she closed her eyes, she imagined Krishna by her side, admiring her. Startled, she woke up, realizing it was just a dream. She thought to herself that Krishna must be with his mother, probably resting in her lap and listening to a lullaby. Indeed, Yashoda was singing a lullaby to Krishna at that very moment. Krishna, holding her hand, promised he would always tell her before leaving and would never make her worry. Yashoda, touched by his words, nodded in agreement. Krishna playfully remarked that she was the best mother, and he wouldn’t trouble her anymore.
The next day, Krishna was playing ball with his friends, while Balram warned Radha to catch the ball carefully, or it would fall behind her. Radha confidently assured him that she would catch it as long as Krishna didn’t throw it too hard. Balram promised Krishna wouldn’t do so. However, when Krishna threw the ball, it accidentally fell into the Yamuna River.
Balram, worried, mentioned that the ball had fallen into the part of the river where the dangerous Kalika snake lived. Radha’s friends quickly blamed her, saying the ball fell because she failed to catch it. Upset, Radha stood silent as Krishna defended her, stating that she wasn’t at fault and that he couldn’t tolerate anyone accusing her unjustly in his presence. Determined, Krishna vowed to retrieve the ball and continue the game, despite Balram’s warnings about the deadly serpent living in the river.
Ignoring the warnings, Krishna bravely jumped into the Yamuna. Radha, moved by Krishna’s willingness to take such a risk for her, tried to follow him, but her mother held her back. Desperate, she pleaded for help, asking someone to save him. Meanwhile, Krishna encountered Kalika. The snake mockingly asked Krishna what he was searching for. Calmly, Krishna replied that he just wanted his ball back, as they had been playing with it. Kalika sneered, saying he would return the ball, but only in exchange for Krishna’s life, as he had disturbed the serpent’s slumber. Threatening to punish all the people of Gokulam for provoking him, Kalika prepared to attack.
Yashoda and Nandan arrived at the riverbank, praying fervently for Krishna’s safety and pleading with Kalika to spare him. Unfazed, Krishna told the serpent to stop lecturing and show his strength instead. Kalika, angered, mocked the people’s prayers and spewed his venom, but Krishna returned it effortlessly. Amused, Kalika asked Krishna if he was performing some kind of magic. He then attacked with a powerful snake weapon, but Krishna caught it midair and threw it to the ground. Finally, Krishna warned Kalika to stop playing games, as everyone was already worried enough.
