Vaiju sits in a bus, tears streaming down her face as she applies vermilion and puts on a mangalsutra, reflecting on her forced situation. She vows to keep them for a lifetime. Meanwhile, Rannvijay ponders why Vaiju left without saying goodbye. Vaiju muses that her relationship with Rannvijay feels like a shadow—always present but not always visible. When Rannvijay finally notices her in the bus, she glances back at him, wondering why he appears so injured. He thinks about how she has disrupted everyone’s lives while sitting there.
Their emotions connect across the distance; Vaiju wishes Rannvijay would tell her to stop, while he believes she should leave the bus. He starts moving toward her, and she hopes he will call her back. They lock eyes, but just as Rannvijay reaches the bus, it pulls away, leaving him standing alone. Jaya arrives and asks if he found Vaiju. Rannvijay reflects that if she didn’t want to stop, he couldn’t force her to stay. He tells Jaya it’s time to head home.
On the bus, Vaiju struggles to pay her fare, only to be informed by the conductor that she owes more for the deluxe service. She admits she doesn’t have any extra money. Distracted, Rannvijay drives recklessly and finds himself in front of the same bus. Jaya scolds him for his erratic behavior and insists she should take over driving since he isn’t in good shape.
Rannvijay insists that Jaya drop him at the sugar mill. When they reach home, she informs the family about Rannvijay’s whereabouts. Sulekha remarks that whatever has happened is for the best. Rao Saheb questions Jaya about Rannvijay’s trip to the mill, while Vasundhara claims to know where Vaiju might be. Meanwhile, the bus carrying Vaiju breaks down. The conductor checks but can’t find the problem. Vaiju insists on checking herself, but the conductor refuses, claiming it’s beyond her ability. Other passengers, however, encourage the conductor to let her try.
Vaiju manages to repair the bus engine, and the conductor allows her to travel to Jhumri Patan without paying fare. Meanwhile, Rannvijay misses seeing her at the mill. When he returns home, he finds his family packing their bags. Jaya informs him that they are all going to Jhumri Patan to bring Vaiju back. Rannvijay contemplates that if they reach her, they might uncover the truth about their relationship.
