Ibaadat tells Subhan that he cannot marry Mannat because she is his sister until their divorce is finalized. After hearing this, Ibaadat insists that Subhan sign the divorce papers, asserting that she lacks the qualities to marry him. In response, Ibaadat becomes furious and slaps Mannat hard, startling Subhan with her sudden outburst. Ibaadat mockingly reminds Mannat that they had been working together against the polygamy allowed by Muslim law, but now Mannat is contradicting herself in her desire to marry Subhan.
